What is Apex Predator Outdoors?

The Short Version: A Call to the Outdoors...

About Apex Predator Outdoors

It all began nearly 12 years ago, after the passing of my grandfather. In grieving his loss, I sought to reconnect with the family heritage he passed down—one rooted in the outdoors. The greatest gift he gave me was the art and discipline of the hunt, along with the profound life lessons it teaches. Together, we spent countless hours shooting rifles, casting lures, and learning values like patience, respect, and perseverance.

I realized that if I didn’t carry these traditions forward, they would fade—not with fanfare, but quietly. In his honor, I returned to the outdoors with renewed purpose, immersing myself fully while documenting the journey on my YouTube channel, Apex Predator Outdoors.

As I dove deeper into archery and hunting, I became frustrated with the available gear. That sparked a new passion: learning additive manufacturing and product design to create better solutions for myself and fellow hunters.

My first creation was the Double Anchor Nose Button. It gained traction quickly—until a cease-and-desist letter arrived over a patent claim. Lacking the resources to fight it in court, I had to stop production immediately.

But that setback only fueled my determination. Next came the Trifecta Anchor Ring—a simple yet game-changing tool born from my own need for consistent anchoring. What surprised me most was how much others loved it. Feedback poured in: “This totally fixed my shot,” “I’m way more accurate now,” and one unforgettable message from a Pennsylvania shop owner: “I gave a set to one of my archery students—she just won her age division at the state championship.”

That story lit a fire. Knowing my design helped someone achieve their dreams was profoundly rewarding.

Since then, I’ve developed more innovative gear: Pinhead target pins, custom patches and hats (shoutout to Brendan at Easy Vanes for the hats, brother!), and the wildly popular Predator Grips for my Mathews LIFT bow. These grips have exploded in demand, and the momentum is building fast.

More is on the way—additional bow models, stabilizers, broadheads, and beyond.

This is just the beginning of the ride. Join the Apex Predator Outdoors YouTube channel, grab some gear, and become part of the movement. One day, you might look back and say, “When he was just starting out, I was there—and I’m still in it.”

Thanks for being here, Predators.
Much love from your brother in the outdoors,
—Travis
